BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport city officials met with state leaders Wednesday to discuss possible sites for a planned juvenile girls detention center.

The state wants to build the facility on Virginia Avenue in Bridgeport.

City leaders have claimed the state did not follow the proper procedure in picking the site and that it doesn't meet all the criteria required of a location for the center.

They've asked Gov. Jodi Rell to consider other locations and discussed some of those at the meeting.

Rell has stated that all proper procedures were followed in choosing the location.
