BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport officials say an eyesore will finally be removed from the city's East End.

Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim says the large pile of dirt at O&G Industries on Seaview Avenue is illegal and a zoning violation.

A judge agreed, issuing a cease and desist order saying the company had to begin cleaning up the mound.

City officials say the dirt has been a health issue and a blight in that area of the city for years.

The cleanup effort is supposed to begin right away.

"Either they'll move it, or we'll move it and we'll charge them for it," says Mayor Joe Ganim.

News 12 reached out to O&G but did not hear back.
