Bridgeport officials probe single-family house fire

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport fire officials are investigating the cause of a house fire yesterday that displaced a family of four and left a firefighter hospitalized. The blaze broke out at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Wallace Court. Investigators are crediting smoke detectors for helping the family escape. Police say two adults and two children were unharmed, but that a firefighter sustained minor burns to his hands, face and ears.
