Bridgeport PD holds toy, food drive

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police officers held a toy drive Sunday in the thick of the holiday season.

Officers collected food and toys Sunday with plans to hand them out on Monday. Organizers say these days, people need a lot of help and this is a way to get right to the root of the problem.

"We're actually helping people where the rubber meets the road," says Lt. Dave Daniels. "When I put a toy or food in somebody's hand, I know I'm doing some good. That's one of the reasons I became a police officer 22 years ago."
