BRIDGEPORT - The man Norwalk police suspected in a string of armed robberies across several cities was arrested earlier this evening.

Police say they spotted the man, Terence Leydon, driving a stolen truck in the area of North Avenue and Main Street when he took off, leading them on a high-speed chase that ended when he crashed on Grasso Terrace.

Police say they already had arrest warrants for him in Norwalk and Westport, and that he is suspected in similar cases in Danbury and Milford, where he allegedly held up a beauty parlor yesterday.

Police say they found a handgun similar to the one used in Friday's nail salon robbery inside Leydon's truck.
