BRIDGEPORT - Police say they are still searching for a weapon that was possibly hidden following a chase in Bridgeport yesterday.

Police say they arrested 31-year-old Angel Santiago, of Ansonia, and 38-year-old Hipolito Rodriguez, of Bridgeport, after they fled following a traffic stop near Horace and Cogswell streets yesterday.

They say they targeted the suspects because they were driving two separate vehicles with missing plates.

Police say Santiago was pulled from his vehicle after he tried to run over an officer on foot. However, Rodriguez ditched his car and fled to a wooded, swampy area behind an apartment complex.  They say they believe that is where Rodriguez possibly ditched a gun.
