BRIDGEPORT - Police say they've made an arrest in a shooting that claimed the life of a 26-year-old Bridgeport man Friday.

Authorities say 21-year-old Jovanne Brown is facing charges in connection with the murder of Michael Watkins.

Watkins was gunned down on Berkshire Avenue Friday night.

Investigators say the two men exchanged gunfire, and Watkins was hit multiple times.

Brown himself later arrived St. Vincent's Medical Center seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

Police say he initially lied to investigators, but later confessed to shooting Watkins.

The Bridgeport police chief credits homicide detectives for making the quick arrest.

Brown faces a number of charges,  including felony murder. He's being held on $1 million bond.
