Bridgeport police name Jose Miguel Torres as suspect in murder of Pablo Aquino

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police have named a suspect in a deadly Bridgeport shooting Wednesday night.

Authorities say 36-year-old Jose Miguel Torres shot his neighbor, 27-year-old Pablo Aquino outside his home on Pixlee Place at around 6 p.m.

Aquino was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Police say Torres took off and is considered armed and dangerous.

Aquino's friends say he battled cancer for years and just recently went into remission. They say he was a happy, funny and loving person who always had a smile on his face.

Residents say the crime isn't uncommon for the area.
