Bridgeport police officer injured in fall through roof

BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport officer is recovering after falling 25 feet during a chase last night.

It happened when officers responded to a robbery on Parrot Avenue at around 12:30 a.m.

Police say a foot chase ensued on the roof of Lindley Food Service in pursuit of James Oler, 19, Misty Oler, 21, and 27-year-old Brian Hope, of Bridgeport.

At that point, one of the officers fell through an open skylight that had been covered in plastic.

He was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center where he is in serious, but stable condition.

The suspects in the robbery were arrested and appeared in court this afternoon.
