Bridgeport police officer Juan Santiago appears in court

BRIDGEPORT - The Bridgeport police officer who accidentally shot himself last December appeared in court today.

State police say Juan Santiago shot himself in the leg at the Bagel King on Main Street.

Officers say the gun was not Santiago's service weapon.

He was not seriously wounded.
