BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport police officer was suspended Wednesday afternoon after he was arrested in both Bridgeport and Fairfield.

Fairfield police say they arrested 33-year-old Omar Jimenez after he punched someone in the face during an argument.

They say it happened early Monday morning at the Fairfield Circle Inn.

Officers say Jimenez then struck a fire hydrant at Fairfield and Courtland avenues in Bridgeport and left the scene.

Bridgeport police say they found him back at the hotel parking lot where they charged him with driving under the influence.

Police say Jimenez admitted to drinking alcohol.
