BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police say they have prevented a gang-related murder by arresting two rival gang members.

Authorities say they took preemptive action because a murder was imminent in a longstanding rivalry between gang members from The Hollow neighborhood and the city's East Side.

The arrests stemmed from a shoot-out between the two gangs Wednesday at the Charles F. Greene Homes housing project, according to authorities.

Police say both men are being held on $150,000 bonds.
