Bridgeport police are asking for the public's help as they search for an armed man who tried to rob a bank this morning. Police say

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police are asking for the public's help as they search for an armed man who tried to rob a bank this morning.

Police say a man with a gun walked into the Community Bank on East Main Street at around 10:30 a.m. and shouted that he wanted money, but left without actually approaching the teller.

Witnesses say the suspect then jumped into a waiting car.

Anyone with information is asked to call Bridgeport police at 203-581-5100.
