BRIDGEPORT - The Bridgeport police department unveiled a plan today to stream live security video from the local school system directly into police cars.

Officials say this could help prevent a school shooting like the one at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Using security cameras located in every city school, authorities will be able to monitor the district from one central location, and lock and unlock doors remotely without ever turning a conventional key.

School officials say the idea for streaming security video has yet to be funded.
