BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport school district officials are considering proposals to change class schedules.

One of the plans would include starting the elementary school day at 8:40 a.m. and the middle school day at 8 a.m. Another proposal would include an earlier start time for high school students.

Superintendent Paul Vallas says that adjusting the schedule could free up money in the cash-strapped district.

A series of public forums will be held next month.
