BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport is reportedly settling a lawsuit with a man whose entire family was killed in an apartment fire in 2005.

The Connecticut Post reports two city council committees voted to award $825,000 to Rinh Thach, whose wife, son and two daughters died when they were unable to escape their apartment.

The lawsuit claims the fire marshal failed to make safety inspections that could have prevented the deaths. The apartment's windows were blocked by metal bars and no smoke detectors were inside.

According to the Post, a final vote is set for Monday.
