BRIDGEPORT - A local organization is calling on the public for donations to feed the less fortunate this Thanksgiving.

The Bridgeport Rescue Mission currently has about 3,100 frozen turkeys it will be giving out to families in need.

It is hoping to give out about 4,000 turkeys and still needs another 900 birds.

In addition to giving out turkeys, it will also be giving out all the fixings for a traditional thanksgiving meal and winter coats.
