BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport leaders are defending the city's anti-blight program following some strong criticism from residents on Saturday.

News 12 spoke with residents who say the program isn’t working because there are too many eyesores in plain sight.

Chris Rosario, director of Bridgeport's Anti-Blight Program, says that while there is still work to do, the city has made progress.

He says one example is a property under renovation on Center Street that was destroyed by a fire more than two years ago.

City officials say other municipalities across New England have started copying the program.
