BRIDGEPORT - Many Bridgeport residents are speaking out about Mayor Bill Finch's proposal to raise taxes.

Nearly 80 people spoke at the first public budget committee hearing last night.

Mayor Finch says the increase would cost the average taxpayer an extra $50 each month.

Many residents say they are tired of the constant increases.

Members of the board say they hope to have a decision on the tax hike by next week.
