BRIDGEPORT - A 27-year-old Bridgeport man who police say took part in an attempted bank robbery in which authorities were tipped off ahead of time appeared in court Thursday and declined to enter a plea.

Police say Albert Bailey and an unidentified 16-year-old called the People's United Bank on Stratfield Road on Tuesday to demand money and threatened violence if the cash wasn't provided when they got there. Authorities say they met Bailey and the boy upon their arrival at the bank.

Bailey faces two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of first-degree threatening. He is due back in court April 6.
