BRIDGEPORT - The Bridgeport Board of Education is considering taking disciplinary action against the district employee who they say gave controversial surveillance video to two parents.

The video allegedly shows former Jettie Tisdale Principal Carmen Perez-Dickson dragging students through the hallway on three separate instances.

Last October, Perez-Dickson was removed from her position and told she could work as an administrator at another school after serving a six-month suspension.

In email exchanges obtained Monday by News 12 Connecticut, Bridgeport Board of Education President Sauda Baraka explained to Superintendent Paul Vallas that the board had viewed the video behind closed doors, and it wasn't supposed to be released to anyone because of a pending lawsuit filed by Perez-Dixon.

Vallas said in the emails that the parents were able to obtain the video because the Department of Children and Families advised the district that the parents were entitled to see any video in which their children appear.

The Bridgeport Board of Education held a scheduled meeting Monday evening where several parents spoke out about the video. Members of the board did not comment on the video at the meeting.
