BRIDGEPORT - Students at Bridgeport's Central High School received copies of the New York Times bestseller "The Pact" today in an effort to encourage them to overcome adversity.The Greater Bridgeport Adolescent Pregnancy Program and the Bridgeport Library system have arranged for 500 copies of the book to be given to city students.The book details how three childhood friends, Sampson Davis, Rameck Hunt and George Jenkins, overcame tremendous odds to achieve their goals."They all wanted to be doctors, and through this pact they all became doctors and they are sharing their story across the nation," says Sara Nichols, of the GBAPP.Davis, Hunt and Jenkins will meet with Bridgeport students Oct. 29 in a citywide assembly.
