Bridgeport to discuss school budget cuts tonight

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport school officials will meet tonight to discuss the school budget for next year.

Last night, a hearing was held on a plan to close Dunbar Elementary.

Superintendent Doctor John Ramos says by closing Dunbar, having layoffs and making other cuts will help the district save $19 million.

Hundreds of parents gathered last night to voice their concerns on the plan.

Tonight's meeting will be held at the Aquaculture School.

Another public hearing will also be held tomorrow night on the closing of Dunbar School at 6:00 p.m. at the school.
