BRIDGEPORT - A 3-year-old Bridgeport boy is in the hospital Friday evening after he fell 20 feet from a second-story window a day earlier.

The boy stopped breathing and was lying unconscious, witnesses say. Carmelo Colon saw the boy lying on the ground and says he darted across the street to help the boy.

"My first thought was to give him CPR," Colon says. "That's all I did, as soon as I gave him CPR, he started crying."

Police say it's likely the boy fell from the 311 Jane St. home after leaning up against the screen of an open window.
