NORWALK - A student at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk says he found a bug in a school lunch Monday.

Dremar Blade, who goes by the Twitter handle "ya uncle dre," tweeted a picture of his friend's lunch at around 1 p.m. The picture shows pasta and sauce, salad and a moth that he says came crawling up from under the lettuce.

Blade's post received a large online response. One person who saw it was a member of the Board of Education. He sent the picture to the superintendent's office, and he says they alerted the principal of the school.

He says the principal immediately went to talk to the lunch crew to find out what happened.

News 12 Connecticut spoke with students and parents outside school, who said the school kitchen always looks clean and that the moth probably flew in. Blade, however, says that the kitchen is dirty and that another one of his friends once found a maggot in his pineapple.

News 12 has reached out to the superintendent, and is still waiting for a reply.
