SOUTHPORT - In what police are calling one of the most bizarre calls they?ve ever heard, a manager was forced to dial 911 over a customer's complaint about a burnt meatball sandwich.
The manager of a Southport Subway sandwich shop placed the call after 37-year-old Tamekah Rudd had a meltdown about the meatballs on her sandwich being burned. She also accused an employee of threatening her.
Officials arrived to sort the situation out, which they say ended peacefully and without any charges being filed.
Police say that 911 is for real emergencies, not for calls of convenience, no matter how burned the meatballs may or may not be.
