C, L & P trying to restore power to about 800,000 homes, businesses

NEW HAVEN - Connecticut Light & Power said today that hundreds of workers are trying to restore power to the nearly 800,000 homes and businesses that are still in the dark.

The utility company says that relief crews from other states are on the way to help in the recovery effort. The company concedes it could be the end of the week before everyone has their power restored, especially in the northern third of the state.
