Call-ahead robber appears in court

A man accused of calling ahead to a Fairfield bank before trying to rob it entered a not guilty plea.Albert Bailey made the plea in

FAIRFIELD - A man accused of calling ahead to a Fairfield bank before trying to rob it entered a not guilty plea.

Albert Bailey made the plea in court Tuesday.

Police say Bailey, 27, and a 16-year-old called the People's United Bank on Stratfield Road demanding the money be ready when they arrived.

The bank instead called police who were waiting when the pair arrived.
