DARIEN - A terminal cancer patient is hosting a gathering tomorrow to celebrate the gift of life with her friends and family.

Shannon Dunleavy, 28, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2010, but after surgery and treatment, the cancer continued and was eventually diagnosed as terminal.

Doctors say Dunleavy only has a few months to live, but rather than eventually having a traditional funeral, she wants a celebration of life. During her celebration, she will be surrounded by more than 100 family members and friends, all wearing her favorite color, green.

Dunleavy's friends have organized a fund to help pay her overwhelming medical bills.
