GREENWICH - A Greenwich first selectman candidate is being praised today for his quick response to a scary situation.

Democrat John Blankley was about to leave the Cos Cob train station yesterday when he says he heard a thud and some screaming.

He noticed a man had fallen face down on the ground.

Blankley says he held the unconscious man while a passerby checked his pulse.

When paramedics arrived the man was breathing on his own. He was taken to Greenwich Hospital.
