BRIDGEPORT - A bus and a car collided this morning in Bridgeport, sending 10 people to area hospitals.

The accident occurred at around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Water and Golden Hill streets, right across from the city's bus station.

The driver of the black Cadillac sedan involved in the accident was ticketed for failing to yield, and could face charges for driving without a license and not carrying insurance.

However, a passenger in the car claimed they were not at fault because they couldn't see the second bus coming around the turn.

While victims described the scene as chaotic, the eight passengers, bus driver and other transit employee injured in the crash are all expected to recover.
