Car crashes into Norwalk Dunkin Donuts

NORWALK - Three people were rushed to the hospital after a car crashed into a Dunkin Donuts on Main Avenue early Sunday morning.

According to officials, the car crashed into the building when the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The car hit two patrons seated at a table inside, and was stopped short by the building's concrete façade before causing any more damage. A police officer was placing an order inside at the time, and helped assess the situation before more help arrived.

The car's driver and the two patrons were taken to the hospital and evaluated for non-life threatening injuries, and the Dunkin Donuts was able to reopen in time to serve its morning customers.
