BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport man says a car crashed through his metal fence Saturday afternoon.

Homeowner Mario Marcoccia says the female driver panicked and hit the gas instead of the brake, sending the vehicle through the fence and onto the front yard of his Westfield Avenue home.

Marcoccia says he was sitting in his backyard when the incident happened, so he was not in any danger, but his prized garden was flattened.

The female driver and her male passenger were not seriously injuried.
