The witness tells says the driver got out of the car and started running.

NORWALK - A car smashed into a building on Butler Street in Norwalk early this morning, and police say the driver is in custody.

Officials say it happened at around 12:45 a.m. A witness says the driver got out of the car and started running. The front door of the building and several mailboxes were destroyed.

The driver has been identified as 26-year-old Ian Murray, of Wilton.

Police say they had to use a Taser on Murray, and that he was taken to Norwalk Hospital afterward.

The witness says this isn't the first time an incident like this has happened in the area, and is hoping for the installation of some speed bumps.
