NORWALK - Norwalk police say they're looking for the vandals who painted a number of cars in two different neighborhoods overnight.

Police say about a dozen cars were tagged near Cove Avenue and 2nd Street in East Norwalk, as well as near Brian McMahon High School on the west side of the city.

Police say some of the cars were painted with derogatory terms and symbols in water-soluble paint, making them easy to wash off.

The incidents are being investigated as a bias crime, which differs from a hate crime, but is still reported to state police.

Police say overnight patrols will be added throughout the city.
