BRIDGEPORT - Heavy rains caused the ceiling of an apartment building that was destroyed during last week?s tornado to collapse this afternoon.

Fire officials say strong winds tore off the tarp that was covering the building after its roof was ripped off during last Thursday's tornado.

They say the rain weighed down the ceiling of the third floor enough to send it crashing down.

The fire department says people were inside three of the apartments at the time, but no one was injured. Officials say no one will be allowed back into the building tonight.
