NORWALK - Russia has reduced the charges filed against a group of Greenpeace activists, including a Norwalk man, that was arrested last month.

Peter Willcox and 30 others were arrested while allegedly trying to place a banner on an oil rig in Russian waters.

Russian officials say they have dropped piracy charges and instead are accusing the group of hooliganism.

The lesser charge usually comes with a fine or two weeks in prison.
