Charges uncertain in death of Bridgeport woman

BRIDGEPORT - Police are searching for the driver who struck and killed a Bridgeport woman over the weekend.

Police say Milagros Rivera was walking with a friend on Union Avenue Saturday night when both were hit and dragged several feet down the road.

Rivera died later that night. Right now, police are only saying that this does not appear to be a hit-and-run.

The family says that it wants to know the name of the driver and whether that person will face charges.

Witnesses say the other victim was 56-year-old Jose Castillo, who is in a coma at the hospital.
