Chimp attack victim may get face, hand transplant

STAMFORD - The Stamford woman who was attacked by her friend's pet chimpanzee last year is now being considered for a face and hand transplant.

Charla Nash lost both her hands and most of her face in the attack. She was recently moved from the Cleveland Clinic she was recovering at to a Boston-area assisted living center.

Hospital officials say Nash will undergo a preliminary evaluation to see if she's a potential candidate for the transplants.
