NORWALK - Two men charged in connection with a robbery at a Fairfield jewelry store were arraigned before a federal court judge today.

Police say Christopher Gay was arrested in the Bronx and Jeffrey Houston was arrested in Allentown, Pa., both connected with the robbery of Lenox Jewelers in Fairfield last month.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says a total of five people have been charged in the case.

Police say two employees were kidnapped from their apartment in Meriden and driven to open the store. Nearly $5 million worth of jewelry was taken in the heist.

Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara calls the robbery "well-planned and well-organized."
