BERLIN - Nearly 200 first responders were joined by state and municipal officials in Berlin today for an Emergency Preparedness Summit. The American Red Cross and CL&P teamed up to host the event, aiming to improve emergency response during storms. CL&P officials say they're currently updating software, which will allow them to provide specific information about a particular neighborhood to town officials, quickening response times during massive storms. CL&P personnel say they'll be working with state and town officials, as well as first responders, to test-run their emergency storm response capabilities in July.
