CL&P bringing in extra crews

Connecticut Light & Power says it has reached out to midwestern states and expects to have 2,000 linemen and another 700 tree workers in place

CONNECTICUT - Connecticut Light & Power says it has reached out to midwestern states and expects to have 2,000 linemen and another 700 tree workers in place by Sunday as Hurricane Sandy approaches.

A spokesman says the company is closely monitoring forecasts.

United Illuminating has also contacted additional crews and says it is coordinating with city and town emergency operations centers.
