CL&P sends out more trucks to restore power in Stamford

More than 20,000 people in Stamford are still without power as of 5 p.m. today, and extra crews from CL&P have been dispatched to help

STAMFORD - More than 20,000 people in Stamford are still without power as of 5 p.m. today, and extra crews from CL&P have been dispatched to help restore power to the city.

Mayor Michael Pavia (R-Stamford) initially criticized CL&P's response, saying it sent considerably less crews than promised. Pavia toured Stamford earlier today, to assess damage and outages, and comfort residents who are still without power.

CL&P has since apologized for the miscommunication, and says twice as many crews are now working on restoring power. Officials say it could be almost a week before everything is fully restored.
