Cleanup crews deal with downed trees in Stamford

STAMFORD - Utility and tree crews had to deal with downed power lines in Stamford Thursday morning during a short burst of wind and rain at around 7 a.m.

Crews are on standby and trucks are loaded with sandbags and road blockages. Department heads have been tracking the storm. They say what they saw Thursday morning was just a taste of what may blow through Thursday night.

Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia says he has met with police, fire, highway and facilities officials and that all agencies will be in touch throughout the storm.
