BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport man drew up a coloring book to help give children hope despite harrowing circumstances in the world around them.

Harry Bell, who is in his 30s, says he has never left Trumbull Gardens, a Bridgeport housing project with a long history of violence.

Bell created a coloring book called "Color A Positive Thought" to encourage positivity in children living in tough situations, including his own 11-year-old son.

Bell says he holds workshops about the book so children can learn more about the messages on each page.

The coloring book is already available in three Bridgeport schools and all of the city's after-school programs, Bell says.
