STAMFORD - A commercial building caught fire Monday night in Stamford.

Firefighters say they had to saw through roll-up stairs to get to the flames on the second floor of the Manhattan Street building just before 9 p.m.

Officials say there were apartments at the top of the building, but there was no one inside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
