SHELTON - (AP) - A 26-year-old Connecticut woman has diedafter she apparently gave birth to triplets at home in Shelton.

The Connecticut Post reports that her mother found the woman andtriplets when she returned to her Rosewood Drive home Tuesdayafternoon.

The grieving mother, Frances Hope, tells The Associated Pressthat she did not know whether her daughter was aware that she waspregnant.

A police statement says officers and emergency medical workersresponded to the home and found the woman unresponsive at 1 p.m.She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The statement did not describe circumstances surrounding theincident, only saying that the cause of death is unknown and thatthere was no sign of foul play. The medical examiner and stateattorney's office are investigating.
