HARTFORD - Tuition could be on the rise at Connecticut state colleges and universities.

The Connecticut Board of Regents' finance committee discussed a proposal today that would raise tuition for in-state students, but lowers costs for out-of-state students.

If passed, costs would rise about 5 percent for in-state students at all 12 state schools this fall.

Costs for out-of-state students would fall about 2.5 percent.

The finance committee will revisit the issue again at a meeting in March.
