WESTPORT - Connecticut held its annual 9/11 memorial ceremony tonight at the Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

Friends and family members of victims were at the ceremony, hosted by Gov. Dannel Malloy and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman. More than 150 victims killed 12 years ago on Sept. 11 had ties to Connecticut. During the ceremony, participants read aloud the names of the victims. A moment of silence followed.

Malloy addressed the crowd, urging everyone to keep the spirits of the victims alive.

Connecticut holds its ceremony on Sept. 10 so the victims' families can attend ceremonies in New York City tomorrow.
