GREENWICH - Connecticut Light and Power says it plans to close its Greenwich service center and move its resources and crew to Stamford.

Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei says the proposal to shut down the center on Railroad Avenue would be detrimental to the community.

The move would put the new facility seven miles away, which could be a major factor in response time during inclement weather and emergencies, according to Tesei.
